Okay. This has been getting on my nerves for awhile, but I neglected to post it here, worrying that it might sound like a childish complaint about things not going my way, but this is just too much.
As some of you know, I'm trying to plan a permanent move to the US, and it's not going well so far. I mean, my relationship is, but I got a hold of the number for Imigration services to the US, and called it. I couldn't get a human on the line, so I called the Canadian Embassy, who told me to call the US one back. I tried not responding to the commands the recording gave me in hopes that a human would come on the line, but the line just ended my call, even though it said there would be customer representatives available. I tried calling back and pressing a number that wasn't an option to see if that would work, and of course, it didn't. It did give me the option to make an appointment, so I went onto their website, found the office I was looking for, and what did I find out? It said I had to have an Alien Resident number to make an appointment, which I obviously don't have since I'm not a resident yet. Anyway, my fiance and I have decided to go another route by getting married here instead. That way, he can petition for my Visa. Well, great, until I called that number, and also couldn't get a human on the line, so now we have to take time that he doesn't have off work to go to the office and find out what we need to know there. I'm just sick of these phone services doing everything they can not to get me in touch with an actual person. Yes, the recording does give me general information. It tells me what to do, but not how to do it. Time is getting short, and I really don't know what to do.
call your canadian embassy back, and tell them you tried what they said like a good little girl and now will they please oh pretty please help you? This is ridiculous. Had similare unpleasant dealings with them while trying to get a passport. Will not bore you with the details but I'm surprised I'm not bald as they made me pull out so much hair.
on a related topic doesn't their recorded bitch have a nasty little voice. makes me ashamed to be a female.
I believe companies and stuff have to have some form of you being able to get in contact with a live person, or they can get in to some trubble.I am not sure all about the details. Look in to that.
You can't get a person on the line at all? That's rediculous and you should dig and dig until someone talks to you. Surely humans still exist

those ones that are voice activated. where they say " say the name of the town you require", and then chances are they won't here you properly anyway.
Here in the States, there is a website called get a human, and I think the address is getahuman.com. I don't know if there's anything similar in Canada. I read a book that gave some interesting suggestions for getting a real person. These included pressing zero repeatedly at each prompt. Another one that was suggested, and I don't know if the same applies in Canda for french, but for the States, they suggested choosing the option for Spanish Speakers. Good luck.

Thanks. I might just have to try that. I'm in the States right now anyway, although not permanently at this point. I'm scheduled to go back to Canada at the end of May.
